E-commerce design is conversion design. The visual choices are not separate from the commercial ones. How a product is photographed, how much information is shown before the fold, where the add-to-cart button sits, how many steps the checkout has, whether the mobile experience is genuinely good or just usable, all of these decisions affect whether the person buys.
We have designed stores for businesses selling clothing, home goods, food, and professional services. The category is different each time but the underlying problems are the same: how do you get someone who has never met you to trust you enough to hand over money? The answer is almost always in the details.
